9-12 English, CTE Courses

This is my 13th year in education and my fourth year teaching virtually. I understand the importance of creating engaging and interactive lessons that inspire students to reach their full potential, whether they're learning in-person or online. I currently teach English and CTE courses, and I couldn’t be more excited about the opportunities that are available for our virtual students.

Throughout my career, I've witnessed the transformative power of education, and I am committed to providing each student with the tools and support they need to succeed. Together, let's embark on a journey of discovery, growth, and achievement. I love what I do, and I am blessed to work with the best students and co-workers. I look forward to getting to know each of my students and guiding them on their path to success here at Russellville Cyclone Virtual Academy!

Ivan Traylor

Cultural Geography, World History, US History, Intro to Computer Programming, Civics, Economics, Psychology, Sociology, and World Geography

With twenty-five years of teaching experience, I've taught Social Studies for grades five through twelve and introduced students to the basics of Computer Science. I began my career at Atkins High School, then transitioned to Russellville High School before finding my niche teaching virtually at RCVA during the COVID era. I thrive in the virtual teaching environment and enjoy connecting with students over classic board games and disc golf during my downtime. Looking forward to continuing to inspire learners at RCVA!

My name is Demetrios Zeffer, and I am thrilled to be here at the Cyclone Virtual Academy in my inaugural year of teaching. The opportunity to engage with students in this innovative virtual environment is something I'm truly excited about. In addition to my role as an educator, I also serve as the 7th-grade assistant football and basketball coach at Russellville Middle School. Being able to contribute to students' growth both inside and outside the classroom is a passion of mine, and I'm looking forward to the journey ahead.

Thomas

Carla Thomas

K-5 ELA, K-2 Math, and K-8 Science

My name is Carla Thomas, I am thrilled to be teaching for the Cyclone Academy. Having recently transitioned from the remote landscapes of northern California, where I facilitated the seamless progression of students from first to second grade through a looping model, I am now eager to embark on a new chapter at Russellville Cyclone Virtual Academy. Prior to my time in California, I honed my craft as a first-grade teacher in the vibrant urban core of Kansas City.

My educational background is Early Childhood Education, however, I have an immense background and passion for Science. I am so grateful for the opportunity to expand into the sciences and explore the Middle School model.

I am so grateful to be a part of this team and look forward to what the virtual world brings!
