On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, Russellville School District was awarded the Highest Achievement Award from the Arkansas Department of Education and the Arkansas Association of Alternative Educators. This award was for the achievement of the ELA ACT Aspire scores in our Alternative Learning Environment program at RSD. We would like to extend a congratulations to Micah Bennett, English III and IV teacher, Secondary Learning Center, and Heather Johnston, English I and II teacher, Secondary Learning Center (2022-2023) for their dedication and commitment to the success of students at Secondary Learning Center and the Russellville School District. Mr. Bennett and Ms. Johnston provided our students with the skills they needed daily to be successful and to accomplish such an achievement on their 2023 ELA ACT Aspire test. Those representing the district ALE program at the AAAE Leadership Day were Ms. Jessica Wygal, Principal of Secondary Learning Center; Mrs. Britney Austin, Building Learning Coordinator and Math Teacher at Secondary Learning Center; Mrs. Leah Lemley, ALE Teacher at Center Valley Elementary; Ms. Kaytie Hayden, student at Secondary Learning Center; and Ms. Brooklyn Thomas, student at Secondary Learning Center.
